Anston Park Junior School is a Read On and Reading Champion school. This status shows our dedication to reading, not just as part of a child's education but also for pleasure. We recognise the important part reading plays in a child's development, giving them windows into other worlds and the ability to understand other places, ideas and cultures.

We recognise the achievements of our children in reading in many ways. One of these is to nominate children for nationally recognised award. Boys are nominated as Reading Champions whilst girls can be nominated as Reading Angels. Children can be nominated for Bronze, Silver or Gold awards depending on the amount they read and the contribution they make to reading in school - this could include running a reading club, promoting reading to others or any other ideas they can think of!
